I understand Justin has been working pretty hard! I messed up when I configured my computer at work. I set it to turn off over the weekend so I graded Thursday evening and meant to grade again Saturday but….I’ll get online early Monday to see how you all are doing.
Looked at what was turned in.
Lesson 4.2 - everyone seemed to be working on 4.3 when I visited today but a few of you need to turn in this lesson: Hannah, Jacob, Ethan, & Matt
I'm going to push the Quiz off until Wednesday at the earliest. So finish up 4.3 and get going on 4.4

Qtr 2 - Week 1

I’ve prepared all the lessons for Section 4 and they are in a folder labeled (surprise) section 4. I basically expect one assignment completed every 2 days. I hope to check in on you and grade some stuff by Thursday but I can’t promise it. Listen to Justin (mostly). He knows what he is talking about (when it comes to Scheme 1).

Monday & Tuesday
We’ll look at some predicate operations - programs that return either true or false.
check-expects become much more important with this unit so we’ll cover these extensively.
Wednesday
I’ll introduce the full conditional programming idea on Wednesday and we’ll look at a couple simple programs. You’ll have homework due tomorrow.
Thursday - Friday
We’ll continue the fun of conditional programming. I’ll set up new partnerships for the full lesson and it looks as if the homework I gave you Wednesday will be the last grade of this nine weeks. I doubt you’ll finish the first programming assignment in time.

I’ve taken a look at the assignments that were turned in Thursday and I saw reasons to be quite happy with your progress as well as a couple concerns.
Monday I’ll take you through the Pipe Problem by looking at it a slightly different way. We call it top down programming. Last week most of you were using a bottom up style. Each has its advantages and disadvantages.
Tuesday I’ll be gone and you will have one more auxiliary style program to write.
Wednesday I’ll introduce section 4 - decision making.

We’ll wrap up section 3 this week with a short quiz. I think the quiz will be Friday, the day I’m out. Meanwhile on Tuesday or Wednesday we’ll begin section 4 which introduces something completely new - decision making.
